Our client Suzuki New Zealand are getting behind local motorsport talent with a great new initiative for young, aspiring motorcycle racers.

This summer, as part of the New Zealand Tri-Series Road Racing Championship, a new racing class, dubbed the “Gixxer Cup” has been launched. This class is a great competition for young racers (aged 14 – 21) to start their careers, making it affordable and giving them an opportunity that hasn’t previously existed.

This is also a great opportunity for Suzuki to promote and showcase their products, (specifically the road bikes involved in the racing, the GSX150F) to a highly relevant audience, and further build their brand as suppliers of high performance road bikes.

GSL Promotus has worked with Suzuki to develop the branding for the series, along with the design of the competition webpages and a range of advertising to both attract riders and teams to apply for the series, plus to promote the racing events to the public.

All the details of the series can be found here on Suzuki’s website. And you can read why Andy McGechan’s (BikesportNZ.com) is excited about the series here.

The first two events took place at Taupo (Sunday 10th December) and Manfeild on Sunday 17th December. The third round takes place at the historic Wanganui Cemetery circuit on Boxing Day.
