Mycoplasma bovis has been hot in the press of late.
The disease is a bacterium that causes severe illness in cows, and is a huge biosecurity risk for New Zealand. Mycoplasma bovis will have a large impact on our dairy and beef industry.
As announced by Jacinda Ardern a couple of weeks ago, The Ministry for Primary Industries, along with industry partners, made the decision to eradicate the disease. The eradication announcement appeared as a full-page letter-style press ad. It was impactful not only by its size, but by its caring and descriptive nature.
As the audience is widely spread throughout the country, we ran the ad in most national, and several rural-focused papers, to reach the target audience.
