We were delighted when Reserve Bank of NZ appointed GSL Promotus in 2018 to deliver their important Public Education campaign to support the release of their 50 cent Armistice Day coin.

Following the successful campaign, we were equally excited when they told us they were going to enter the coin and our campaign into the IACA (International Association of Currency Affairs) Excellence in Currency Coin Awards, recently held in Rome.

So we went about crafting them an informational (and very moving!) video to support their entry and we have just received the fantastic news that RBNZ won two award categories – for Best New Commemorative or Test Coin; and also the public education campaign that we created for the Bank to support the release of the coin was awarded first place in the category of Best Public Education Program, Website or App.

This is a campaign which we were very proud to be a part of, as it spoke strongly to an important part of New Zealand history.  For us, it involved a wide range of work including media strategy and co-ordination/delivery of a complex schedule; and development and production of a strong creative concept that could work across many channels, including television, print, digital and out of home advertising. And we also created an AR App to explain the coin and bring it to life in a unique and futuristic way.

So a huge congratulations to our valued client the Reserve Bank of New Zealand on this well-deserved award.  In delivering the news of their success, RBNZ told us that our video supporting their entry made many people in the Awards ceremony teary and some of the judges described the entry as “the best they’ve seen”.  Good to hear – we love doing work that works!
